7-year relationship on the line 6 months before wedding when 28-year-old man refuses to move states for girlfriend's promotion that would double her salary: "It's the kind of opportunity that doesn't come around often"

The months leading up to a wedding can be incredibly decisive for the presumably happy couple. Planning a wedding is no walk in the park, and all of the stress and coordination involved can lead people to discover things about their partner they likely wish they had known sooner. The pressure to host a great, big celebration can drive people to expose their nastiest attributes. From finding out that your partner is a total control freak, to realizing that they are incapable of standing up to their own family, the trials and tribulations leading up to the wedding can really make or break a couple.

Today, we will be looking at the story of a couple that is coming to realize that, despite having spent seven years together, they are not nearly as compatible as they once thought. It isn't a disagreement over wedding guests that causes our protagonist to reevalute her future with her partner; it's his dismissive reaction to her promotion at work.
